

James "Jim" Galuoppo passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home of Acute Lukemia. He was born in Fort Wayne on March 22, 1930, the son of the late Frank Domenico and Frances Scherschel. He attended St. Peter Catholic Grade School, Central Catholic High School and IPFW. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 241.
"James was the son of an Italian immigrant who chose Sheet Metal as his trade. James along with his brothers Kenneth & Donald followed in their fathers footsteps. James opened his company J&N Sheet Metal in 1972, which is still in operation. His service to his trade has extended over 50 years." He enjoyed ice fishing with his friends and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
On Nov 25, 1954, He married the "love of his life" Nancy Grosh, who survives after 56 years of marriage. He is survived by Sons: Joseph (Mary Beth) Galuoppo, of Bloomington, IN and Anthony Galuoppo, of Ft Wayne; Daughter, Tara (Rick) Shuler, of Ft Wayne; Sister, Mary (Tom) Kramer, of South Bend, IN; 4 grandchildren, Dominic Galuoppo, Nicole, Megan and Rachel Shuler and his beloved canine companion "Sweet Pea". He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Donald and Robert and Sister, Delores Hill. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00am Thursday at St Peter Catholic Church, 518 E. Dewald St. with calling 1 hr prior. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8pm Wednesday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Winchester Rd Chapel, 6424 Winchester Rd. with a Rosary at 3:30pm. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery.
