Jim did not want a funeral but I held a private military service for him to honor his life and his service to our country.  Jim served in Vietnam and he was very patriotic throughout his entire life. He flew the American flag every day and he was proud to be an American.

Christmas will never be the same without Jim and Ryan.  It used to be one of my favorite days of the year.

I think it was in the spring of 1971, when I moved into that dump of a house on Irene Ave. with Jim. We had been drinking a few beers when it was decided that I would make a good enough room mate. 
Jim was just a acquaintance when I moved in. 
But with our passion for adult beverages, loud rock & roll and having the crazy assortment of people that we knew who dropped by; it wasn't long before Jim was my good friend. 
In the next 12 years Charlene and Jim were always there when I needed them. 
Good by my friend James P. Knepper, you had a good run. I was glad to be along for the ride.

How do you condense 50 years of memories? I was 21 when I met Jim and he was 23. Jim loved to spend time outside sitting on the deck, cooling off in the pool, riding his zero turn mower he got just last year, spending time with Ziva (our younger granddaughter) sharing a drink or two with his best friends (Bruce, Kenny and Tom, RIP)  going to Florida for a month every April, feeding the birds and hummingbirds, driving around all the back roads in the country, watching Gun Smoke, All in the Family, Married with Children, Rambo and Vietnam movies. We both got hooked on The Walking Dead and so did Ryan! In our younger days, we liked to camp out, sit around a fire, go to the lake, ride around in our boat on Jimmerson Lake, and spend weekends hanging out with friends. It's hard to believe that Jim's no longer with us but his memory will live on forever in our hearts. 

When we were in junior high, Jim would take me for rides around the neighborhood on the handle bar of his bike.  I think he may have taken me all the way to Hamilton Park a couple of times too!  He was a good friend back then. Jim had a great smile and quirky sense of humor that I remember fondly to this day.  My sincerest sympathies to Charlene and family. 

Uncle Jim you will truly be missed I have so many wonderful childhood memories with you. Some of the best times were watching you and my dad work on vehicles in your barn. I always enjoyed being there with you guys you always kept me laughing. I am thankful for the wonderful memories I have of you. May you rest in peace all my love Susan 

Jim was a life long friend and will miss him greatly. Many great memories and fun times. He was a loving husband, father and  grandfather. He was one greatest friends you could ever  have . Rest in peace, my friend . I will miss you.

I've known Jim for 60+ years he was a lifelong friend to me the very best you could ever ask for. We have shared so many memories over the years some good some bad but he was always there when I needed him. I'm very proud to have known Jim. Me and my family will miss him dearly.
