James Espinoza Laguna

James E. Laguna, 75, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 9, 2023, in Parkview Randallia Hospital. Born on December 17, 1947 in Monroeville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Francisco and Petra E. Laguna. James graduated from Elmhurst High School and served honorably for the US Army of the 1st Division, 131st Battalion Artillery Unit. He retired from General Motors in Defiance, Ohio, after 42 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, drawing, sketching, and going to the gun range. He loved watching old western movies and listening to blues-rock music. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will always be remembered and never forgotten and always in our hearts. James is survived by his daughters: Nicole, Michelle and Tina Laguna-all of Fort Wayne, Indiana and grandson, Junior Laguna of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Fort Wayne siblings include: Louise Smith and Josephine Mata; Ruben (Vera) Laguna of Defiance, Ohio; Joe (Crystal) Laguna of Redonda Beach, Ca.; Jane Graef of Colorado; Estella (Bruce Wood) Laguna of Texas. James was preceded in death by Ortencia Vanhorn; Theresa Eix; Guadalupe Andonegui; Esther Nunez; Manuel Laguna and Robert E.“Bobby” Laguna.

Funeral services, followed by military honors at the graveside will start at 12 o'clock noon on Friday, December 15, 2023. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at the start of the funeral. Please disregard your GPS once you enter the cemetery grounds-make a left at the entrance and follow it past the pond to the funeral home.
