He graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1983. The hardest working man you could ever meet, he was employed by Steel Dynamics for 26 years. He also owned and operated a small landscaping business. Doug was an avid golfer, cyclist, and tennis player. He had a habit of whistling or singing his favorite rock tunes, without even knowing he was doing it. A man of many talents, Doug was a fantastic dancer and, in his youth, was a gifted photographer. Not one for travel, he preferred the comforts of his home and family to all other things. He took immense pride in his sons and granddaughters, whom he loved unconditionally. He will be dearly missed.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lisa Anne Tash (née Shroyer). They were married in 1988. He is also survived by his sons, Nicholas Ryan and Elijah Aaron; his granddaughters, Ophelia Sage and Katerina Violet; his mother, Sharon Tash; his siblings, Michael Tash and Lisa Turner; and many nieces and nephews. His many friends are also mourning his loss.
A memorial service will be held on May 30th, 2026, at D.O. McCombs and Sons - Covington Knolls. The visitation will last from 1pm to 3pm, with the service beginning at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tash family.
