Jeannette Marie Schimes

Jeannette was a class of 2000 graduate of Northrup High School. She loved her children, was an amazing cook, and held various jobs as a chef in her adult life. Something "Nette" (as her loving friends called her) was very proud of was her natural aptitude for the arts. She loved writing poetry and music, singing, drawing, painting, taking pictures, and jewelry-making to name a few of her interests. Nette lived for the beautiful moments in life, no matter how minute it may have seemed to others. Where some would see a weed, she would see a wish. Most of all, she loved to make others feel heard, understood and accepted. She will be deeply missed.

Jeannette was proceeded in death by her father, Ronald; mother, Donna; grandparents, John and Marge; and uncles, Larry, Raymond, and Dan. Surviving are her pride and joy daughter, Ivy Anna Harkenrider of Fort Wayne; sons, Trevar, and Collin Wyss of Hoagland, IN; as well as siblings, Jennifer (Jeff) Stutesman, Jeffery (Vanessa) Schimes both from Mishawaka, IN, Jeremy (Heidi) Bercot, and Jessica Bercot both from Ft. Wayne, IN; grandmother, Cora McCloskey; a slew of loving nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6th at 10:00am at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home (1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne), with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation will also take place from 2-4 and 6-8pm, Tuesday, January 5, at the funeral home.
