Jerry DeWayne Huffman

He was born on June 19, 1960, in Huntington, Indiana.

Jerry was a graduate of Huntington North High School in 1979.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 11 years, then served for 22 years with the 122nd Air National Guard, retiring in September of 2016.

Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends and being a member of Headwaters Church. Jerry was also a member of the American Legion Post 47.

He became a handy man just to keep himself busy along with playing innumerable rounds of disc golf with his son Levi and became a regular at the pickle ball courts. He loved music and dancing (that is how he met his wife, Cheryl).

Jerry and Cheryl were extensive travelers. He never met a stranger and would talk to anyone who cared to listen.

He will be sorely missed by all those that knew him.

Jerry is survived by his wife Cheryl Huffman, two children, Levi Huffman and his partner Maddie Miller, Brittney (Tom) Kohnke, two stepchildren, Candace (Marcus) Rogers, Nicole Ditzenberger and her partner Keagan Hill, his mother, Helen McDowell, sisters, Susan Toney and her partner Scott Lockwood, Dianna Palmisano and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2026, at Headwaters Church 2000 N. Wells Street, Fort Wayne, IN. Private burial at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, IN. Memorials may be made to Headwaters Church Fort Wayne.
