

Jerry Marshall Lawson 76, passed on January 31, 2022. He was a son of the late Ernest M. and Dolores May (Gault) Lawson. He was born June 18, 1945 in Anderson, Indiana, attended the Church of the Brethren in Wabash Indiana, and was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Jerry was a writer, journalist, professor of History and Humanities, personal biographer, ghost writer, city planner, happy traveler, artist and his most loving role, stay at home father. His wood mosaics were shown in galleries and on display in Palestine. He enjoyed being the National Treasurer of the Association of Personal Historians. His spirit resides everywhere but especially on an island in Maine and in the redwood forests of California. Jerry graduated from Wabash High School, earned a Bachelor of Science in History, Master of Arts degree in History from Ball State University and a second Master of Public Administration from Indiana University. He was accepted into a prestigious writing program at IU with essayist Carol Bly. Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marsi Lawson; sons, Eric M. Lawson and Kurt M. Lawson; brother, Larry Joe (Marcia) Lawson; sister Lynette (Dennis) Price; nephews, David Lawson and Josh Price; nieces, Jennifer Lawson Williams and Marissa Price Ramsey and their families; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jackie Lee Lawson and Stanley Lawson, (Peggy). A private family only service will be held Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022 in the family studio and a Celebration of Life with family and friends will be announced in the Spring. Memorials may be made to Indiana Center for Middle East Peace.
