Joan was born on March 4, 1940, to Raymond and Mary Daeger (Noneman) in Antwerp, Ohio. She attended Antwerp High School and was a graduate of Indiana University. Her career in retail management took her all over the country, but eventually brought her back to her mid-west roots to be closer to family.
She was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, the company of her close friends, her grand and great-grandchildren and the cocker spaniels who brought so much joy to her life.
Joan was preceded in death by her sisters Judy Eaches (Daeger) and Margaret Heil (Daeger).
She is survived by her brothers Richard and John Daeger, her son, Steven, and her daughters, Connie, Laura and Nancy. She was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren Skyler and Scott Todd, Victoria and Greg Finkelberg and Alan Wietfeldt, as well as her great-grandchildren, Annika Todd, Jack Tabak and Amara Wietfeldt.
At her request, no formal services are being held. Joan desired that her family and friends remember her as she was—a kind, funny and generous soul who loved children, animals and cherished the friendship of those close to her.
