

Joanna “JoJo” Nicole Meriwether was born February 22, 1986 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was the daughter of Dwayne Meriwether and Lisa Cabell. She departed this life on August 27, 2024 after a courageous battle at the age of 38.
JoJo, as she was affectionately called, was a 2005 graduate of Paul Harding High School. She later decided to further her education and enrolled in Brown Mackie College. On May 20, 2011, she received her Associate in Science in Criminal Justice.
JoJo was a loving young lady who was a workaholic. She was one who stayed around the house, but enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially her lunch dates with her sister. Her nurturing spirit allowed her to serve the Fort Wayne area healthcare facilities as a Certified Nursing Aide.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dwayne Meriwether; grandparents, Curtis Cabell, Joe Meriwether and Anna Meriwether; and great grandparents, George Sr. and Ida Mae “Big Momma” Cabell.
Left to cherish in her memory are her mother, Lisa Cabell; sister, Candace Wilson; grandmother, Mary Ella Cabell; niece, Gabriele; nephews, Camarion and Lee; uncles, Gary Cabell, Royce (Tashonna) Cabell and Derrick “Rick” Cabell; great uncle, Tracy Calloway along with several cousins and friends.
A visitation for JoJo will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Foster Park, 6301 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46807, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am.
