

Joanne Elizabeth Cutrell, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. She was born on May 20, 1933, in Racine, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Clayton and Frances (Balzer) Meissner. A long-time resident of Racine, Wisconsin, Joanne was a 1951 graduate of Washington Park High School. After graduation, she worked at Massey-Ferguson until 1967, and later enjoyed many years of working at the polls on election days. She was a long-time member of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church in Racine. In her free time, Joanne enjoyed traveling, bowling, ceramics, going out to eat and spending time with friends and family. She also loved spending summer weekends at Lazy Days Campground in West Bend, Wisconsin. In 2012, Joanne and husband Fred left their home of almost 50 years, and moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to be closer to family, especially their grandson. Surviving family members include her daughter, Debra (David) Welter and grandson, Noah Welter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband of 60 years, Frederick L. Cutrell. A memorial service for Joanne will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Living Faith Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Avenue in Racine, Wisconsin, with visitation one hour prior.
