Joe E. Daugherty

Joe E. Daugherty, 90, of Zanesville, passed away, Friday, January 4, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born March 21, 1922 in Berea, Ohio, the son of Earl and Myrtle (Smith) Daugherty. He retired in 1986 after 60 years with the Sheet Metal Union, Local #20. Surviving are his daughter, Janet (Ray) Burniston of Zanesville; grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Russell of Fort Wayne, Chad Satterthwaite of Fort Wayne, Brent Burniston of Hollywood, California, Ray (Sonja) Burniston of Markle, and Tammy (Dana) Post of Auburn; brother, David (Janet) Daugherty of Warren; and six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther (Ripple) Daugherty in 2003; two brothers and one sister. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804 with visitation 1 hour prior. Pastor David Harrold will be officiating. Visitation will also be Friday, January 11, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Preferred memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church or to the Humane Shelter.
