

He enjoyed bicycling, model airplanes, golf, bowling and water skiing. John also loved camping and cars.
John married Diane (Pettis) Huberty on May 3, 1969, in Saint Peter, MN, and they had two daughters, Kelly Anne and Kerry Lynn.
He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Hufft, of San Acacia, NM, and Kerry Law, of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, William Hufft Jr. & Drew Hufft (San Acacia, NM) and Taya Law (Fort Wayne, IN);
John was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Huberty; his parents, Arthur and Philomena Huberty.
A Memorial Gathering will be on Saturday May 3, 2025, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home- Covington Knolls- 8325 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, from 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM, with a Memorial Service to begin at 4:30 PM.

Diane Marie Huberty, age, 76, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on November 6, 2024. She was born in Mankato, MN on October 23, 1948 to parents Calvin “Kelly” Pettis and Helen Pettis.
Diane married John Huberty on May 3, 1969, in Saint Peter, MN, and they had two daughters, Kelly Anne and Kerry Lynn. She graduated from Marion Technical College with a nursing degree, and later became a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse at Parkview Hospital. She took an early retirement in 1995 due to the progression of her ALS.
Diane spent her extended retirement years sharing her expertise in living with ALS. She maintained an extensive website and participated in many online groups, in order to assist other ALS patients and caregivers.
She is survived by her husband, John Huberty, of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters, Kelly Hufft, of San Acacia, NM, and Kerry Law, of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, William Hufft Jr. & Drew Hufft (San Acacia, NM), Taya Law (Fort Wayne, IN); a brother, Greg Pettis, of Walker, MN; sisters, Kristine Roue, of Cambridge, MN, Marilyn Marsh, of Saint Peter, MN, Kathleen Pettis-Smith, of Cambridge, MN.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Jury Pettis and Helen Margaret Pettis.
