John Brian Gallacher, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Kingston Residences. He was born February 21, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, son to the late James and Margaret Jane (Hepler) Gallacher. He was a Lionel Train Operator, past member of the Mizpah Shrine Temple, and the Scottish Rite. John served in the U. S. Marine Corps, as well as having worked at General Electric and General Telephone. He also worked as an electrician and dispatcher - driver in the transportation industry. Surviving him are his brothers, James Dennis (Cyndy) Gallacher of Everett, WA and George (Mary) Gallacher of Fort Wayne, IN; nephew, Timothy Doerr; nieces, Kari Gallacher, Heather Luckey, and Megan Gallacher; great nephews, Joel Lambert, and Jacob Lambert; and great nieces, Annabel Cottey and Addalyn Luckey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Gallacher; sister, Patricia Doerr; and nephew, Michael J. P. Gallacher. Visitation with a time of sharing at the conclusion will be held Monday, April 1, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. Burial will then take place at Lindenwood Cemetery, with military honors. Contributions in John's memory may be made to American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
