John Paul Harris

John Paul Harris, 69, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at his residence in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Fort Wayne to the late Jack and Helen (Tritch) Harris. He married the love of his life, Betty Mattingly on August 9, 1975 and she survives. John worked for GM and was a skilled carpenter for over 25 years. He enjoyed auto racing, traveling, camping, and reading. He liked working around the house and helping his son with projects. Above all he loved his family and his “boys”, Scooter and Cody, and they meant everything to him. Surviving are his children, Lisa Hormann, Ryan (Rebecca) Harris, and Christine (Tom) Sylvester; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mike (Betsy) Harris, Phil (Monica) Harris, Tom (Barb) Harris, Candy (Bob) Bohlender, Tim (Joanna) Harris, and Julie McCammon; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, David Harris, Dr. Jim Harris and Steve Harris. Funeral service 10:00 am Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Greenlawn Funeral Home. Calling also from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Funeral Home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park on Covington Road.
