John L. Laymon

John L. Laymon, 95, of Berne, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Swiss Village. Born May 7, 1917, in Frankfort, Indiana, John was the first son of the late John and Estella (Sprunger) Laymon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Ruth (Keller) Laymon. Mr. Laymon retired from RexAir Corporation at age 80 but continued to serve as a manufacturing consultant until age 94. Surviving are daughter Anita Laymon of Boone, NC; daughter Susi (Bob) Jones of Fort Wayne; son Rev. Tom (Janice) Laymon of Wilmington, DE; and John’s brother Charles Laymon of Florida. Other family members include grandchildren Valerie (Ed) LaBo of North Carolina, Matthew (Molly) Jones and Jonathan Jones of Fort Wayne, as well as great-grandchildren Logan, Carson, Asa, and Ellis. Calling will be at Klaehn Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Rd. Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Thursday, June 7, 4:00 -7:00 P.M. A memorial service will be held at First Missionary Church, 701 West Rudisill Blvd. Fort Wayne, on Friday, June 8, at 11:00 A.M., with calling at the church one hour prior.
