John R Moss

JOHN R. MOSS, 77, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2015. Born in Flint, Mich., John worked as a news anchor and weather specialist with TV 33 Fort Wayne for many years, and also was the owner of Mothers Saloon for five years. John had a great sense of humor and was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions. Surviving are his daughters, Corinda (Michael) Hirst of Jackson, Mich. and Linda (Paul) Starring of Charlotte, N.C.; sons, James (Victoria) Moss of Charlotte, N.C. and John (Michelle) Moss of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Angela, Lauren, Nate, Brad, Alexandra, and Ella; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Will and Braxton; brother, Richard "Pete" Moss of Maine; and John's loving dog, Keisha. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Winifred Moss; wife of 30 years, Elizabeth "Betsy" Moss; grandson, Andy Hirst; and great-granddaughter, Lilly Moss. Funeral service is 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling from 2 to 5 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the Allen County S.P.C.A.
