

Judd Junior Hargis Jr., 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Byron Health Center, Fort Wayne. Born May 25, 1939 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Judd J. Hargis and Laura Alice (Stillwell) Jones. He loved country music and was referred to as “Cowboy Hargis” by many. A self-taught guitarist, he enjoyed playing for others and participating in the talent show at Byron Health Center. He is survived by his siblings, Timothy Hargis of Fort Wayne, Joe Hargis of Fort Wayne, Carol Spaw of Warsaw, Ind., Sandy (Mike) Roese of Frankfort, Ind., Betty (Russell) Scriver of Fort Wayne, Cindy Fry of Fort Wayne, Bonnie (James) Clutter of Fort Wayne, Bill (Joyce) Bates of Fort Wayne, Terry Bates of Fort Wayne, Maryann (Steve) Weeks of Fort Wayne, Shirley Moore of Fort Wayne, Diana Franklin of Jacksonville, Fla., Tom Bates, whereabouts unknown; brother-in-law, Wes Yeager; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; and the staff and caretakers at Byron Health Center. He was also preceded in death by four siblings, David Hargis, Jack Hargis, Maryalice (Hargis) Yeager, and James Bates; and three brothers-in-law, Stan Spaw, Frank Fry, and Tom Franklin.
