Karna Lou Espich

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Karna Lou Espich, on September 3, 2025, at the age of 73. She passed away peacefully at her home in Waynedale, Indiana surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 22, 1951, to the late Charles William and Gloria Louise Safford, and she was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Karna Lou Espich was known for her silly personality and love of cartoons, game shows, the Colts and her passion for her family. She was a devoted mother to her children and a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren, always making time for them and the simple joys in life. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and the countless memories she created with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Molly Louise Espich; son, Benjamin Wayne Espich; brother, William Safford; sisters, Kristi (Kirk) Mayer, and Sandra (Jeff) Crider; 3 grandchildren, Jayden Tyree Ford, Keontay Emmory Marsh, and Keziah Bentley Marsh; 1 great-grandson, Jayden Tyree Ford Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Karna was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Janey Byram.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
