Kenneth Ray Jackson (73), a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of the Lord, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 23, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on June 28, 1951, in Columbia City, IN, Ken was the cherished son of the late Harry and Mae Jackson Jr.
Ken's journey of life was marked by his unwavering love for his family and his deep faith in his Heavenly Father. A graduate of North Side High School in 1969, Ken began his career as a hair stylist at J.C. Penny’s salon. His children fondly remember accompanying him to work, turning each visit into a delightful adventure. As they grew, Ken became their preferred stylist, crafting unique hair colors like "Coca-Cola Red" and "Black with a slight purple-tint," which were among his daughters' favorites.
Ken's heart for helping others led him to a fulfilling career at Parkview Hospital, where he dedicated over 20 years to supporting patients with mental, developmental, and medical challenges. His compassionate spirit and gentle presence provided comfort and hope to those in need.
Above all, Ken treasured his family. Summers were filled with the aroma of his delicious breakfasts—French toast, eggs, and sausage links—followed by joyful calls of "Breakfast is Ready!" His grandchildren eagerly anticipated his cooking and cherished the wagon rides through the neighborhood, accompanied by the sounds of nature and a calming breeze. Christmas was a special time for Ken, as he gathered his loved ones to decorate the tree and fill the house with festive cheer.
Ken's faith was the cornerstone of his life. A gifted piano player, he often described his musical talent as being "directed by the spirit." Leading worship brought him immense joy, but his greatest delight was witnessing his family worship together every Sunday. His legacy of faith and love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Jane Jackson, and his children: Sarah “Jenni” Jackson, Christina (Timothy) Whaley, Dominique (Carlie) Harbosky, Alexis Smith, T.J. Royal, and Teiyona Royal. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Ellen Jackson, Rose (Lowell) Worth, Liz Moran, and seven grandchildren: David Limore, Kylee Whaley, Ryan Jackson, Mason Howard, India Alfred, Drace Henry, McKinley Babineaux, McKylan Babineaux, and Cassian Harbosky.
