Kenneth Wayne Knittle

He graduated from Van Wert High School in 1954. He served in the Army from 1959 to 1961. On April 22nd 1967 he married Arlene J. Rickert from Huntington. He spent his life working in retail, JC Penny’s, Montgomery Wards and L. S. Ayers. He was very creative and enjoyed, drawing, painting, gardening, flower arrangements, weddings and crafting for over 20 years at the Grabill fair. He was a member of Grace St. John’s UCC where he was past president of the church council and sang in the choir. He was also a tenor in the Ft. Wayne Barbershop choir.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, children Laurie Wooldridge of Carmel IN, Eric (Kim) Knittle of Ft. Wayne, Holly (Alex) Glass of Westfield IN; grandchildren, Kyle, Zach, Autumn, Owen, Andie, Zaden and Ellie. Brother’s Richard, Gordon and Dennis and sister Marjorie Rhoades. He was preceded in death by sisters Louise Miller, Naomi Van Doren, brother William and son-in-law Scott Wooldridge.

Memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, May 16, 2021 with calling two hours prior at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN.
