Kenneth "Ken" Leroy Rice Sr.

Kenneth “Ken” Leroy Rice Sr., 78, passed away on February 27, 2026. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, on March 5, 1947, to the late George Rice II and Vada May (née. McClure) Rice, Ken was beloved by so many.

Ken was a devoted member of Sugar Grove Church of Churubusco, following the path His Lord and Savior laid out for him with faith, dignity, and grace. He found peace and joy in the small moments. Whether that was sitting on the porch with his late wife, Bonnie Rice, admiring the hummingbirds, gardening, or fishing out on the lake. Beyond all else, he loved and cherished his family with all his heart. The many memories made spending time with them will forever be treasured in the many years to come.

Surviving Ken are his children, Kevin (Lisa) Robinson, Christina (Michael) Anthony, Keith Robinson, Susan (Brian) Thompson, Shawn (Scott) Stevens, and Kenneth (Crystal) Rice Jr; siblings, Bob (Nancy) Rice, Dianna Maggert, and George “Dude” (Lance) Rice III; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lou Rice; parents, George Rice II and Vada May Rice; siblings, Richard “Ricky” Rice, Danny (Judy) Rice, Steve (Amy) Rice, William “Billy” Rice, and Pamela “Pam” Ewen; and brother-in-law, Mike Maggert.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Advantage Funeral Homes – Highland Park, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Ken will be laid to rest at Highland Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made out to the family to help cover costs of the funeral.
