Larry Delynn Dafforn, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at his home. Born on May 24, 1942, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Halden Delynn and Freeda Alexander Dafforn. He retired from ITT in 2005 after 42 years of service. He played an important role in the Wayne High School soccer program for over 32 years, and was inducted into the inaugural Wayne High School Athletic Hall of Excellence and Contribution in 2016. He attended Fellowship Missionary Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lucile (Lucy) Dafforn; son, Doug (Cara) Dafforn of Indianapolis; daughters, Tami Ester and Kelli (Andy) Luckett, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Brittani and Brady Ester and Shaelynne and Breckin Luckett; and brothers, Ronald (Ann) Dafforn of Springfield, Ohio and Daryl (Sonja) Dafforn of Hudson, Indiana. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mike Ester. A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Fellowship Missionary Church, 2536 E. Tillman Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021, at the Church. Burial to follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian, Indiana. Masks are recommended. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Fellowship Missionary Church.
