Laverne Lucille Eickhoff, born on May 11, 1938, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 87. A compassionate, kind-hearted, and faithful woman, Laverne was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne.
Laverne was confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Schools and was a devoted member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Her career spanned various roles within the public library system in Fort Wayne, as well as positions in data entry and banking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Eickhoff, and a son, Douglas Neil Hall. Laverne is survived by her son, Kent M. Hall; her daughter, Peggy A. Rice; and her son, Michael (Kim) Hall. She also leaves behind her brother, Dr. Erwin C. Mueller, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Laverne had a passion for singing for the Lord, bowling, gardening, wintering in Florida, and shopping. She cherished her time at German Fest and singing with the Fort Wayne Männerchor/Damenchor, and she was particularly known for her German Potato Salad.
Her community involvement was extensive. While in Florida, Laverne was an organizer and member of Faith Lutheran Church in Naples. She dedicated her time to volunteering at various charities and church food banks and remained a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
In her own words, she often said, "Everything is fine...Superfine!" Laverne Lucille Eickhoff will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
