

Lee Wayne Baysinger, age 74, was called home by the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on November 14, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Wayne lived a life filled with love, family, and an unwavering passion for mechanics and racing.
Wayne dedicated his career to working as a diesel and high-performance mechanic. His expertise and willingness to lend a hand made him a trusted figure in his field. Beyond his profession, he was a proud Army veteran who honorably served his country during the Vietnam War.
Family was everything to Wayne. He is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Aldena "Dee" Avery; his sister, Marceil Fick of Florida; his brother, Bernard Baysinger of Indiana; his children, Steven Baysinger, Clarence (Rachel) Baysinger, and Annette (Charles) Noble; and stepdaughters, Dawn King and Shaunda (Kyle) Hamrick. He was also blessed with grandchildren, Victor Wayne Angulo, Brittany Pearson, Abby Roeder, Audriana and Kaylee King, Weston Baysinger, Emma Hamrick, and Kyle Jr. Hamrick; as well as great-grandchildren, Benjiman Angulo, Matthew and Isabella Baysinger, Amelia Daugherty, Thalia Ralstin, Lexus Ralstin, Emerald Ralstin, Asher Ralstin, William Pearson, Claire Pearson, and Phoenix Roeder. Special mention must be made of Robin (Amy) Parker and Randy (Julie) Cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Dorthea Baysinger; siblings, Charlotte Flynn, Marilyn Parker, Tom Baysinger, Bruce Baysinger, and Chet Baysinger; grandson, Christopher Baysinger; and best friend, Charlie (Helen) Powell. He is now reunited with those who went before him-off to the races once more.
Wayne never knew a stranger. His kindness and generosity were unmatched-always ready to help anyone in need. His second family was the racing community. Whether at Avilla Dragway, Muncie Summit Park, or Norwalk Ohio Summit Raceway, he found joy in the roar of engines and the camaraderie of fellow racers. These tracks were not just places of competition but cherished destinations where he shared unforgettable moments with family and friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes -Foster Park located at 6301 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, Indiana 46807. The gathering will take place from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm and again from 4:00 m to 6:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held on March 24, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery at 6600 Covington Road in Fort Wayne at the Baysinger family plot from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Wayne lived a blessed life surrounded by those who loved him deeply. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May the Lord keep him until we meet again.
