Leslie L. Hetler, 94, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Born on September 27, 1928, in Berrien Center, Michigan, he was a son of the late Roy E. and Bertha E. (Ruhno) Hetler. He was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. He proudly served his country in the Army, and retired in 1994 from ITT, after almost 25 years of service as an Aerospace Engineer.
He is survived by his daughters, Angela Hetler, and Jennifer Gruber; also Melissa Schiffli, and Mark Gruber; and grandchildren, Hannah and Ethan Gruber. He was also preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Ellen (Schenk) Hetler; and siblings LeRoy “Barney” Hetler, and Betty Christner.
Memorial service will be 11:00am, Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 4700 Vance Avenue, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Inurnment will be in Lindenwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to the Madina Village School, P.O. Box 15869, Fort Wayne (IN, 46885), (www.madinavillageschool.org).
