Linda Lu (Patrick) Hickox McCreary

Linda Lu Patrick Hickox McCreary passed on September 13, 2018. Known as Louie, she was born on November 5, 1937 to the late Delma Clarence Patrick and Hilda McCain Patrick, in Parker City, Indiana. The family moved to Auburn, Indiana shortly after. Louie was a 1955 graduate of Auburn High School. Louie started working in the Ft. Wayne Memorial Coliseum ticket sales office in 1982 and retired as Ticket Sales Manager in 2004. She spent many a happy hour working at SportONE/Parkview Icehouse in Ft. Wayne. She is survived by her daughter; Barbara Ann Hickox; grandchildren, Jennifer Garvey, TJ Back and Heather Back; great grandson, Kale Skala; and best friend, Mark Harper. Louie is also survived by her sisters; Jo Ann Patrick Simanton and Nancy Patrick Lauer (Ted) Jacobs; brothers, Ervin Arthur (Mary) Patrick, and Keith Allen (Linda) Sexton-Patrick. Louie was a special Aunt to Brian Conway, Cindy Oberlin, Gary Oberlin, Greg Oberlin, Connie Oberlin, David Simanton, Dexter Simanton, Cindy Patrick Lind, Danny Patrick, Kathy Patrick Becht, Laurie Patrick, Carrie Patrick Barrett, Rita Patrick Lewitt, Michael Patrick, Terri (Blue) Patrick Hummel, Angela Lauer Jacob Garner, and Christopher Lauer. Louie was preceded in death by her husbands, Bud Hickox and Bob McCreary; her oldest sister Patricia Lee Patrick Conway Oberlin; her brother-in-law, Gene Simanton; her middle brother, Earl Franklin Patrick. Linda’s wishes were to have a Celebration of Life at American Legion Post 47, 601 Reed Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815 from 2-4 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2018. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
