Linda Josephine Woodson

On October 22, 2024, Linda Josephine Woodson passed away at the age of 82 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Linda was born on July 28,1942 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Walter Doerflein and Josephine Morehouse.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. James A. Woodson and to this union three (3) sons were born.

Linda lived her entire life in Fort Wayne, Indiana, dedicating her life to her husband and sons, Fort Wayne Community Schools, and as a Cub Scout Den Leader. She was passionate about singing and creating pottery. She was a proud mother that fueled her sons’ dreams, despite society telling them otherwise.

She leaves to mourn her passing three sons, Joe J. Woodson of Fort Wayne, IN; James A. Woodson II of Fort Wayne, IN; and Roderick K. Woodson of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters-in-law, Emily McIntosh of Fort Wayne, IN and Nickie Woodson of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Joseph A. Doerflein of Fort Wayne, IN and Michael K. Doerflein of Monroeville, IN; two sisters, Debra D. Leone of Levittown, PA and Jacqueline C. James of Louisville, KY; one sister-in-law, Terry Doerflein of Avilla, IN; two brothers-in-law, Chuck Leone of Pennsylvania and DJ James of Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren, Jessica Sandoval (IN) Andrew (MI), Marika (CA), Demitrus (NV), Tia (NV), Jarius (NV), Nemiah (NV), Mckale (IN), Isla (IN), Eli (IN), Asher (IN), Avery (IN), and Neala Woodson; seven great grandchildren, David JR, Joshua and Jerimiah Sandoval (IN), and Ahzai (MI) and Isaiah (NV) Woodson, Rashaad Hill (CA), and Amias Johnson (NV), along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial gathering for Linda will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 12:30 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church,1101 Lafayette St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802.

Family and friends will gather at the Southwest Conservation Club, 5703 Bluffton Rd. Fort Wayne, IN 46809, following the service.
