Lois Jane Payne, 90, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on March 15, 2026, at her home. She was born on May 10, 1935, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late, D.O. Gregory and Pauline Starnes.
She graduated from Central High School in 1953.
Lois worked at Quality Foods in accounting for 14 years until their closing in 1983. She later worked at ITT, processing purchasing orders for 16 years and retired in 2000. She was dedicated to her work and never missed a day.
Lois will be remembered as a generous, humorous, and hard-working woman whose presence brought steadiness and warmth to those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Theodore) Growe of Lenexa, KA; Pamela D. Payne of Fort Wayne, IN; Julie R. Payne of Fort Wayne, IN; and a grandson, Theodore J. Growe of Lenexa, KA.
Lois was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Gregory and a sister, Doris Gregory.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2026, with visitation two hours prior at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
Committal and Burial to follow at Covington Memorial Garden Cemetery.
