

Loretta Marie Raub Heckman, age 84, resident of Fort Wayne, passed away on December 16th, 2020. She was born in Albion, daughter of Donnabel Wiley Raub and Paul Raub on June 23rd, 1936. Loretta graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne as a member of the class of 1954. Following her graduation, she devoted the next 30 years of her life to her family. Loretta was characterized by her love of Antiquities, her interest in Native American Civilizations and her unending passion for learning.
In 1984, after raising her children, she moved to New Mexico to pursue her passions by attending New Mexico State University and getting her Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology in Fall of 1989 and Masters of Art in Applied Geography in Spring of 1997. After returning to Indiana in 1999 to be near family, she sought to share her passion for history by opening an antique store, Antiques and More, in Avilla.
She is survived by her three children, Rick Heckman, Leslie Laffkas and Lisa Jahn-Hahn (David Hahn), the father of her children Thomas Heckman, her six grandchildren (Gina, Kristina, Brad, Angela, Dustin, Alexa), her nine great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jimmy Raub, and her granddaughter Kimberly Laffkas.
