Marcella Marcy Stephenson

MARCELLA A. "MARCY" STEPHENSON, 90, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014. She was born Sept. 4, 1923 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Ernst and Wilhelmina (Schaaf) Bultemeier. She is a graduate of Saint Paul Lutheran School and Central High School. Marcy was a civil service employee at Casad Ordinance Depot during World War II. She married Joe J. Stephenson on Aug. 18, 1945. When her sons reached college age she returned to work at International Harvester as an executive secretary. Portions of their retirement years were spent in Naples, Fla. Surviving are her sons, Gregory (Joan) of Great Falls, Va., Douglas (Liz) of Naples, Fla., Bradley of Fort Wayne, and Kevin (Cindy) of Rome City; her brother, Herbert Bultemeier of Elkhart; her grandchildren, Jason (Nancy) of Carlsbad, Calif., Geoffrey of Santa Monica, CA, Harry of New York, NY, Todd of Orlando, FL, Lisa (David) Dexter of Virginia Beach, Va., Justin of Moscow, Russia, Nicholas (Amy) of Fort Wayne, and Andrew of Fort Wayne; and her great-grandchildren, Preston of Fort Wayne, Graham of Carlsbad, Calif., Madison of Virginia Beach, Va., and Braxton of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her siblings. Wilbert Bultemeier, Robert Bultemeier, Velma Kruse, and Hilda Sher. Funeral service is 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, (IN 46804), with calling two hours prior at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be directed to the choir at St. Michael Lutheran Church where she and Joe were charter members.
