Margaret "Nanny" Ilene Lee

Margaret "Nanny" Ilene Lee, 94, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020. She was born on May 21, 1926 in Fort Wayne to the late Lester and Anna Brown. She was a life-long Fort Wayne resident. Margaret married the only love of her life, Warren Lee, in 1942. They had a beautiful 34 year marriage before he passed away on 1976 from leukemia leaving Margaret a widow at the age of 50. She never remarried. Margaret worked at Sears and retired after 33 years. She felt retirement as lonely and went back to work 11 years later. She worked full-time for Dollar General for 16 years, retiring at the age of 89. Margaret was a very active member of Harlan United Methodist Church. She was an avid Cubs fan and loved to play Euchre any chance she could get.

Her death will leave a hole in the heart of all who knew and loved her. Although her family grieves her loss, they take comfort in knowing that she lived a long beautiful life and she is now reunited with the love of her life,Warren; her daughter, Rita; sister, Evelyn; grandson, Andy; and many other family members and friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Sue Britton; son-in-law, Ed Carr; grandchildren, David Detwiler, Scott Carr, Kathy (Jody) Neuhaus, Amy Gillepie, Jenny (Robert) Putt and Julie (Dave) Ray; great-grandchildren, Katie (Matt) Davenport,Austin Gilbert, Kimberly Wicker, Chris Neuhaus, Alex Neuhaus, Kyle Wertman, Kole Wertman, Lucas Gillespie, Zach Seban, Emily Seban, Kamryn Ray, Konner Ray, Christian Detwiler, Neely Detwiler and Isla Detwiler; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be on Friday, September 25, 2020 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Funeral Home (4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835) at 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be at the funeral home Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held.
