Margie Ford Holderman

Margie Ford Holderman, 88, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born June 23, 1934, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of the late Jesse Elmer and Dorothy Ruby Ford. Margie graduated from Arcola High School in 1952, and earned her Bachelor's Degree of Psychology from Purdue University, Fort Wayne in 1983, with a minor in fine arts. She worked at the Allen County Library and was the co-owner of Holderman Electric for over twenty years. Margie enjoyed oil painting, creating portraits and landscapes. She loved to host gatherings for her family and friends. Margie married her high school sweetheart, Alva “Al” R. Holderman, on July 24, 1955. She was a former member of Forest Park United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Margie is survived by her children, Beth (Jon) Wood, Todd (Chris) Holderman, and John Holderman; grandchildren, Sara (Jason) Zawitkowski, Carrie (Shannon) Stineburg, Courtney (Gordon) Johnson, Shauna (Mitch) Holderman, Trisha Holderman, Rebecca (Zach) West, Samantha (Roy) Williams, Lauren Wood, and Justin Wood; and 22 great-grandchildren. Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Alva “Al” Holderman; and siblings, Thaine Ford, Gerald “Bud” Ford, and Monna Winchester. A funeral service to honor Margie's life and legacy will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 10, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. A visitation will also take place on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to Trinity Food Pantry (Bloomingdale), 609 Putman Street, Fort Wayne.
