Marjorie R. Cavell

MARJORIE CAVELL, 90, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018, with family by her side. Born and raised in Indianapolis, she met her husband Stu at Walloon Lake, Michigan where both families vacationed. Marge graduated from Tudor Hall in Indianapolis and earned her Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A resident of Fort Wayne for many years, she raised her family, acquired many friends and was an active civic volunteer with Fort Wayne Philharmonic and the Junior League of Fort Wayne. Marge and Stu were Jubilee Members of First Presbyterian Church. An avid golf and tennis player, Marge enjoyed playing with family and friends at the Fort Wayne Country Club. She also enjoyed entertaining, gardening, taking walks with her husband around Foster Park and spending time at Walloon Lake. Marge and Stu traveled extensively both home and abroad. She will be missed by all. Surviving are her children, Katherine Cavell, Steven (Leslie) Cavell, Nancy Bradtmiller, Sally (Michael) Fillbrunn, Carol Cavell; grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsey) Cavell, Ann (Corey) Ehinger, Emily (William) Tunstall, Claire (Jon) Hale, Scott Bradtmiller and Carlton Bradtmiller; and great-granddaughter, Edith Septima Hale. Preceding her in death were her husband, M. Stuart Cavell, and brother, Fred Ropkey. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home.
