It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Louis Savio, 39, of Fort Wayne, who left us on November 22, 2025. Mark graduated from Elmhurst High School in 2005. In 2012, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Indiana University–Purdue University (IPFW), a testament to his sharp mind and curiosity.
Mark was known for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, compassionate nature, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor. To those who knew him well, he was a deeply loyal friend and a loving family member.
Mark’s journey was not without its struggles. He faced battles that many did not see, but he fought them with resilience and dignity. His passing serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of reaching out to the people we love, especially when they may be silently suffering. Addiction, though often hidden behind a smile, is a battle that no one should face alone. We urge everyone to check in on those close to them, to listen with empathy and without judgment, and to offer support before it’s too late.
Mark is survived by his father, Paul Savio; his sisters, Katherine Tannehill and Sarah Hathaway; his brother, Andrew Lynch; and his aunt, Valli Ferrell. He was deeply cherished by his family and a wide circle of friends who will forever miss his genuine spirit and kind heart. Mark’s memory will live on in the love and kindness he shared with those around him.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on March 7th, 2026 from 2pm to 5 pm at the Citadel, 125 West Main Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802. In lieu of flowers, we encourage all to reach out to those in their lives, offering love, compassion, and support—as Mark would have wanted.
