Mary Ann Bright was born March 8, 1962, to Curtissean E. (Ganaway) Bright and the late Willie C. Bright Sr. She earned her wings on Friday, July 28, 2022, at Parkview Regional Hospital. Mary Ann graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1980. Mary Ann was an elementary school teacher at Cornerstone Christian College Preparatory Day & High for 22 years. Mary Ann’s accomplishments include: CDA Gold Standard Training Certificate - Early Childhood Education from the Council for Professional Recognition. Nominated Teacher of the Year four times during her career. Recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the “Follow Your Dream" Leadership Award. Mary Ann received her Doctorate in Christian Education in 2017 from Cornerstone Christian Bible College International after a successful completion & defense of a 200+ page dissertation. Mary Ann owned and operated The Tender Heart Daycare Center for over 15 years for children ages newborn throughout school-aged. Mary Ann was a faithful and dedicated member of Destiny Dome Embassy Cathedral of Praise under the leadership of Apostle Doctor Oscar Nelson Dowdell-Underwood. Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Curtissean E. (Ganaway) Bright; 3 brothers, Willie (HenryEtta), Bright-Savage Ronnie (DeLois) Bright-Savage of Fort Wayne, IN, and Richard (Paula) Bright of New Llano, LA; 5 sisters, Sarah (Greg) Horton, Belinda (John) Weaver, Patricia (Buford) McKinney, Donna Salaam, and Dora (James Sr.) Walker, all of Fort Wayne, IN; two children, Jamia Haywood and Joshua Haywood of Fort Wayne, IN; Aunts, Uncles, a special cousin, Vanessa Collins; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special extended family members, O’Neshia Paige-Johnson, Nina Stephens; a close friend, Ramona Lavender; as well as Godparents, Pastors Virgil and Glenda Griffin. Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Bright; grandparents, Louis and Mattie Bright, Louis and Gussie Ganaway; and a great-nephew, Jaden Stanford. A Walk Through Visitation for Mary Ann will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at The Destiny Dome Embassy of The Cathedral of Praise, 3501 Harris Road Fort Wayne, IN 46808. A Special (private) Service Celebrating the Life of Mary Ann will occur following the visitation at the church. Masks are required for entry. Mary Ann will be laid to in Highland Park Cemetery & Mausoleum, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825.
