

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Andrew Gall in 2013. Mary and Andy’s epic romance flourished across seven decades, inspiring three generations to live with love, family, and the pursuit of homegrown happiness. Mary set the bar high with her fierce loyalty to her family and dedication to the home she filled with beauty from her garden, signature recipes, and strong Polish and Catholic traditions. Mary was also an integral member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and School for over 60 years and a beloved neighbor in the NE Fort Wayne, Leo, and Amish community. As one of the first Master Gardeners in Allen County, Mary shared her expertise with 4H, local schools, the Allen County Extension and the Fort Wayne Botanical Gardens. She earned a degree in botany from IPFW. In their golden years, Mary and Andy traveled all over the country and the world visiting their children. In her final years, Mary enjoyed the care of the wonderful people at Park Place Senior Living for whom her children will be forever grateful. Mary is survived by her children, Barbara Gal, Richard Gall, Kathy Calwell (Chip), Suzanne Butler (Jerry), Christine Chui (John), David Gall (Lori), Martha Schaefer, Kenneth Gall (Ronna), Gina Dyer (John), Emily Orillon (Ben); grandchildren, Christopher Perry (Debbie), Derek Perry (Heather), Scott Barnett (Jana), Brady Butler (Kristin), Nick Butler (Lisa), Aion Chui, Daniel Gall (Jacquie), Jake Cornett, Casey Cornett, Blake Cornett, Evan Schaefer (Elly), Peaches Gall (Elizabeth), Jeremy Gall, Jessica Dinkel (Jesse), Rick Fultz (Shelby), Olivia Dyer, Delaney Dyer, Alizah Flesher and Anouk Orillon; great-grandchildren, Christopher Quick (Terri), Kyle Perry (Armina), Cori Perry (Avery), Nathan Butler, Lillian Butler, Evelyn Butler, Cora Gall, Lucas Gall, Samantha Gall, and Fletcher Dinkel; great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Quick and Conner Quick; Siblings, sister Helen Ostrich, and sister-in-law Alice Nykaza. She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Gall; siblings, Joe Nykaza, John Nykaza, and Ed Nykaza. Mary, the young girl from “The Pyne” led a very long and beautiful life. She will be remembered and missed by the many people whose lives she has touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also take place from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Leo Memorial Park.
