Mary E. Heaston

MARY ELIZABETH HEASTON, 77, of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. She was born June 3, 1936 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of the late John C. and Audrey J. (Long) Harrington. She was a Title One Teachers Aid for 28 years with FWCS, retiring in 1997. She was a member of The Journey Free Methodist Congregation. Surviving are her sons, Robert (Kathleen) Heaston, Ron Heaston, John Heaston, and Jay (Jennifer) Heaston, all of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Robin (Randy) Sleesman of Fort Wayne; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Heaston of St. Joe; sister, Sharon Crothers of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Heaston; a son, Kenneth J. Heaston; three brothers, Dick, Carl and Harry. Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Mike Courtney officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the funeral home.
