MARY MARGUERITE LUCILLE (MELANCON) GEORGE, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center surrounded by her children. Born in Burlington, Vt., on Nov. 1, 1935, Marguerite was one of two daughters of the late Lucille and Raphail Melancon. Marguerite brightened the lives of everyone who knew her, she always put the needs of her family and others first. She loved the Lord and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marguerite was an avid football fan of the Colts and Notre Dame, thanks to her son-in-law Brent. She is survived by her children, Julie (Brent) Hartman, Robin (Greg) Johnson, Alan George, and Paul (Susan) George; grandchildren, Nick Hartman, Heather Scrivens, Adam Prater, Leslie Prater, Travis Kendal, Rachel George, Keaton Samaan, Andrew George, Crystal Bergman, Britney Buckhardt, and Josh Johnson; and 19 great-grandchildren. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce George; sons, Michael Scrivens and Brian Scrivens; and sister, Monica Ware.
