Mary Ellen Royer, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away on December 24, 2025. She was born on March 9, 1932, in Wabash, Indiana, a daughter of the late Floyd and Luemma (McGriff) Smyers. Mary Ellen was previously a member at West Creighton Avenue Christian Church, First Assembly, Broadway Christian Church, and Grace Communion Fort Wayne. She was also preceded in passing by her husband of 44 years, Gene Royer; sisters, Oneida Smith and Joanna Breece; and brother, Clinton Smyers. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday January 2, 2026, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46819, with visitation one hour prior. Mary Ellen will be laid to rest at Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mary Ellen's memory may be made to Stillwater Hospice, Grace Communion Fort Wayne, or a charity of your choice.
