Maurice A. “Tom” Cook, 99, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 1:55am at the Towne House Health Center. He was a lifelong resident of Ft Wayne and a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church since Jan. 1927. He graduated from North Side High School; received a BS in Business Administration from Northwestern University, where he belonged to Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Most of his early working years were spent with Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. in the Lincoln Museum and then the actuary department. In 1949, he joined his father in the Candy Brokerage business, retiring in 1976. Prior to her passing in 2007, he was married to Margaret Brudi Cook for 69 years. Surviving are his children, Maurice A. Cook, Jr., of Westerville, OH; daughter, Marilyn C. Grush, of Pleasanton, CA; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral Service is 11:00am Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St. with calling 1 hr prior to service in the Washington St. entrance foyer. Burial in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Outreach Program of Trinity English Lutheran Church or the Parkview Hospice program.
