Max F. Harris

Max F. Harris, 85, crossed the finish line, June 3, 2011 at the Lutheran Life Village. He was born on January 23, 1926 to the late Fred and Velma (Stoutenberry) Harris. He was a WWII Army veteran, a member of Am. Legion Post 296, VFM 10006. He retired after 24 years of services as a paymaster at BF Goodrich. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Donna J. (Butler) Harris; children, Connie (Gary) Waters Elwood of Wolf Lake, IN, Kevin M. (Carole) Harris of Ft. Wayne, Pollie (Pat) Knight of Byron Center, MI, John A. (Kim) Harris of Albion, IN, Julie A. (Tim) Jackson, of Byron Center MI; 17 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kelly J. Harris.

A celebration of his life will held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 680 Old Trail Road, Ft. Wane with calling one hour prior to services. Visitation hours will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Catholic Cemetery following funeral services with Post 215 of Lagrange providing military rites. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital and Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
