Michael Charles Gonsior, 29, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Michael was born on January 28, 1988 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was the second child, and first son of Susan Charlene Kirkpatrick and Marc Kenneth Gonsior. Michael started out early in life with a very caring personality. One of his first loves in life was NASCAR. It was followed by anything to do with NASA and anything to do with football. He spent many hours building cardboard space shuttles, drawing racecars and football players with his cousin Justin Rogers. His love for NASCAR and football carried on into school where he worked hard and made his High School Football team. While drawing was Michael’s stress reliever, football became his outlet to deal with anything life threw at him. His other interest was playing pool, which he spent a lot of time playing. After school, Michael joined the Army. He was very proud to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, uncle, cousin, and other family members he looked up to. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Sue (Kevin) Kirkpatrick; father, Marc Gonsior; sister, Jennifer (Jason) Littrell; fiancée, Leah York; step-sisters, Janice Kirkpatrick, Karen (Keith) Kirkpatrick, Lori (Jay) Bell; step-brothers, Zachary Rowley, Kevin R. Kirkpatrick; aunts, Patricia (Chuck) Gregory, Candace Landon, Deanne Williams; as well as several close cousins, and many nieces and nephews. Service will be 11 am, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, with calling one hour prior.
