Shellee passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 29, 2025. She was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, by her late parents Richard and Elizabeth “Betty” Hall. As a child, she enjoyed baton twirling and was accomplished in horseback riding. Shellee served in the United States Army after graduation from Northside High School. Shellee lived in both Indiana and Florida for most of her adult life and often spoke fondly of memories of beach days with her children. Shellee enjoyed a life of learning and new careers but ultimately retired from her career as a master cosmetologist. Shellee’s greatest joys in life were her five children, Charles Hunter, Shannon Hunter (Chad Kelley), Lucas Hunter, Hilary Hunter, and Ashley Hunter all of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was lovingly called “Nana Shellee” by her grandchildren, Kayley, Nautia, Jace, Harrison, Arabella, Payton, Audrey, Jackson, Collin, Caleb, Onesty, Vincent, Raya, and great-granddaughter, Avangeline, all of whom she beamed with pride and joy for. Shellee often enjoyed true crime shows and loved James Bond movies as well as anything miniature. She frequently referred to herself as a “tough old broad” and took pride in protecting her family fiercely. Her happiest times were spent laughing with her children, grandchildren, and close friends Deb and Robin. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 2PM-8PM at 426 East Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46802. Memorial contributions may be made in Shellee’s honor to St Jude’s Research Hospital.
