Nancy "Joan" Cummings

Nancy "Joan" Cummings, 86, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at her home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Fort Wayne IN to the late Blanchard Day, Sr.and Lelia Owen Day. Nancy was a lifetime resident of Fort Wayne and graduated from South Side High School in 1950. Nancy worked as a clerk with General Telephone for 42 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, but her passion was spending time with her son and her grandchildren. Surviving are her son, Albert "Dan" (Rose) Cummings of New Haven, IN; brother, Eugene (Peggy) Day of Fort Wayne grandchildren, Stephanie (Kris Sanders) Hobbs of Fort Wayne, IN; Justin and Aaron Cummings both of New Haven, IN, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Wynston Cummings, sisters, Jacqueline Gulley, Elizabeth Thurber, brothers, Blanchard Day, Jr., Marion "Dutch: Day, William Day, and infant brother, Rex Day. Service is 10:00 am, Monday June 4, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior. Calling also Sunday, June 3, 2018, from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice.
