She was a graduate of Central High School and was a long-time and devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Nellie worked in the accounting department at Midwestern United Life Insurance Company for 34 years.
She enjoyed planning and hosting parties and time with friends. Her memberships included Friends of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Fort Wayne History Center, and was the coordinator for the festival of trees at the Embassy Theater for 17 years.
Nellie is survived by her sister, Virginia Maloley; nephew, Mitch Bedree of Fort Wayne IN; niece, Elizabeth Yunker of Chicago, IL; cousin, Michael Maloley of Fort Wayne, IN; great nephews, Mark and Mitchell Bedree; and a great-grandniece, Harper Bedree. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marian R. Bedree.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Committal and burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery.
