Nicole Christine Caplinger

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Nicole Christine Caplinger Pappas, who left this world far too soon at the age of 32. Nicole was a devoted mother, loving daughter, cherished sister, and treasured granddaughter whose kindness, strength, and love touched everyone who knew her.

Above all else, Nicole was a mother. She poured her heart into raising her two beautiful children, Jordan Bennett, age 15, and Elizabeth Caplinger, age 6. They were the center of her world, her greatest pride, and her deepest joy. Her love for them was unconditional and unwavering, and it will continue to guide and surround them every day.

Nicole was the beloved daughter of Laura Pappas and George Pappas, who loved her deeply and were proud of the woman she became. As a sister, she shared a close and meaningful bond with her brother, Christopher Pappas, and her sister, Hannah Sorg. She was a source of warmth, loyalty, and compassion within her family, always offering support, understanding, and love.

She was the cherished granddaughter of Dorothy Rutherford and Kenneth Rutherford. Nicole was also preceded in death by her grandparents, William Pappas and Joanne E. Pappas, who welcomed her with open arms.

Nicole will be remembered for her gentle heart, her generous spirit, and the fierce love she had for her children and family. Though her time here was far too short, her impact is immeasurable. Her memory will live on through her children, her family, and all those whose lives she touched.

Nicole Christine Caplinger Pappas will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday December 22, 2025, at the funeral home. Committal and burial at Concordia Gardens, 5300 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN.
