

She was born on January 5, 1927, in Estill Springs, Tennessee, the second-oldest child in a family of six children, born to Robert Walton and Mary Ollie Rogers. Norma moved to Fort Wayne after high school with an aunt and uncle for work opportunities. It was there that she met and married Richard Shenfeld, Sr., on July 13, 1946. They then had four children, which consisted of three boys and one girl. Norma was a homemaker for several years before going to work at Sears and Roebuck as a manager in the catalog department. After 53 years of marriage, Richard Sr., preceded her in death on February 24, 2000.
Norma was a long-time member of the Church of Christ in East Allen County. She enjoyed going to movies, bowling, playing cards, baking, sewing, completing, and framing puzzles and doing many arts and crafts. All that knew her, adored her feisty spirit and strength.
Family and friends will greatly miss Norma. She is survived by her son, Roger Shenfeld; daughter, Pamela (Todd) Short; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; plus numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Richard Shenfeld, Jr. and Robert Shenfeld; parents, Robert and Mary Ollie Rogers; brothers, Woodrow Rogers, Jimmy Rogers and Bobby Rogers; and sisters, Katherine Martinez and Jeanette Smith.
Funeral Service is at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes – Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Interment at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
