Joan Bowman-Dean, 88 passed away Sunday May 9, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born January 23, 1933 in Paulding, Ohio to the late Durl and Blanche Horner. Joan graduated from Oakwood High School, Oakwood, OH in 1950. She was a cashier at Keltsch Pharmacy for 23 years and retired in 2000. Joan was a member of Northridge Baptist Church of Fort Wayne. Joan enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, being outdoors and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Donald G. Dean, children, Marvin (Linda) Bowman, Brenda Anderson, Debra Kage, Sue (Kim) Snyder, Kelly (Roger) Bowman-Smith all of Fort Wayne, IN; Rita (Robert) Odquist of Huntington, IN; step-children Patricia (Roger) Apple, Donnie (Sara) Dean, Julie Gaff, Steve Dean, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a host of step grand and great grandchildren, sisters Ruby Buckmaster of Ashley, IN; and Nancy (Darrell) Noffsinger of Paulding, OH. Joan was preceded in death by her first husband Francis “Harlan” Bowman, one brother and 6 sisters.
A Celebration of life will be 12:00 pm Saturday May 15, 2021 at Northridge Baptist Church 1300 E. Cook Road Fort Wayne, IN., with a gathering 2 hours prior.
