Peggy A. Hippenhammer

Peggy A. Hippenhammer, 81, of Angola, IN, passed away on April 9, 2024. Peggy was born in Gatesville, Texas on January 28,1943. She graduated from Greenon High School, Enon, OH, and went on to nurses' training in Dayton, OH to become a registered nurse. In 1966, as a working mother, she returned to school and earned a BS in Nursing from The University of Saint Francis. Peggy worked as a nurse all of her life in various settings. She was the office nurse for W. David Pepple’s family practice in the late 70’s/early 80’s, and served the last 20 years of her nursing career as a surgical nurse at Cameron Hospital in Angola, IN. She was beloved by patients and colleagues alike. She enjoyed life on Crooked Lake-pontoon rides, gardening, traveling, and socializing; she didn’t know a stranger. Peggy was beautiful, strong, fiercely funny, and always the life of the party. Peggy was married to Maurice Hippenhammer on September 30, 1977. They were married for 46 years. Peggy is survived by her husband, Maurice Hippenhammer of Angola; daughter, Beth (Martz) and Jason Brooks, of Fort Wayne; son, Greg Martz of Bloomington, IN; stepchildren, David Hippenhammer, and Molly (Jeff) Barney, both of Fort Wayne. She loved time spent with her 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Peggy’s family would like to thank Nurse Lisa and Chaplin Kris, from Heartland Hospice, and certain special staff members of Kingston at Dupont, for their expert and loving care for her. Funeral services for Peggy will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024 at 1:00 P.M., at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services- Highland Park, 2403 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, IN. Calling is two hours prior. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials, in Peggy's name, be made to the Masses, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 700 W.
