Phillip “Brad” Knepper, 88, passed away at home on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born on November 18, 1936, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to parents Everett and Rose Ann (Haggerty) Knepper, Brad was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. Brad proudly served in the US Navy from 1956 to 1962. After his service, he retired from Knepper Cartage, a family-owned transportation company, after 30 years of dedication. When he was younger, Brad had a passion for cars. He would often spend his free time restoring vintage models and loved to race up and down State Road 327. As he got older and started a life with his late wife, Patricia, the two enjoyed gardening together. Their plants blossomed beautifully, receiving much care and attention from the couple. Even after Patricia’s passing, Brad kept up with the hobby and their love never ceased as evidenced by the ever-blooming garden at their home. Brad is survived by his children, Phillip Alan (Diane) Knepper, Steven D. Knepper, Cynthia (Jim) Brooks; grandchildren, Bradley Knepper, Brian Powell, James Knepper, Matthew Knepper, Shanna Powell-Hill; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous other loved family members. Brad is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Gaskill) Knepper; parents, Everett and Rose Ann Knepper; and siblings, Donald Knepper, Eleanor Knepper, Eugene Knepper, Jerry Knepper, and Darwin Knepper. A funeral service for Brad will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 12PM, with visitation one hour prior, at Advantage Funeral Home and Cremation Services – Highland Park 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46825.
